Summary: The Salesperson is responsible for improving the sales of Company products in each assigned account. S/he is also responsible for directing, controlling and evaluating the delivery and merchandising activities of the Route Driver.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Merchandises the complete product line including the filling of coolers, shelves and displays.
  • Advantageously leverages product’s visibility and competitive activity in each account by requesting additional placement, display, sign, static or price reduction
  • Strategizes with low volume accounts to maintenance service and increase profitability
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from inquiries, trade shows, direct mail responses, aged leads, dealer resellers, business directories, internet sites, and other sources.
  • Makes lead follow-up calls and visits to potential and existing customers to qualify leads and quantify future sales.
  • Networks in the community to establish report and additional leads; offers samples of products to current and potential customers.
  • Awareness of competitive activity and proactively take advantage of sales opportunities
  • Tracks stock levels.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules.
  • Builds and maintains customer relationships.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions.
  • Ensure proper rotation is in effect for all accounts.
  • Pull close dated product from the cooler/shelf to place for driver pick-up and return to the warehouse.
  • Require all product with expired dates to be returned to the warehouse for disposal.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
  • Conducts all activities in accordance with local, state and federal liquor control regulations.
  • Travels to and attends all applicable, approved events to boost company sales.
  • Keeps the company informed on competitive products, promotional matter, pricing and market policies.
  • Prepares sales forecasts

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to quick learn new applications, prefer experience with DBEV.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Travel Demands: Occasional domestic travel up to 25%.

Summary: Under the direction of Delivery Manager, the Route Driver will be responsible for deliveries of pre-sold products to assigned accounts.

  • Delivering carbonated and non-carbonated beverages and kegs weighing up to 160 pounds.
  • Prepare and calculate delivery invoices, showing cases placed and credits given.
  • Perform accurate accounting of full and empty goods.
  • Perform daily routine vehicle inspection and operate Company vehicle in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT).
  • Develop and maintain good Company image in the trade and industry to achieve the Company’s objective for the overall growth and availability of D & D Beverage brands.
  • Expedite replacement product orders.
  • Process inventory transactions according to departmental procedures.
  • Maintain product integrity with proper rotation at retail accounts.
  • Assist in reconciling invoice and receiving transaction discrepancies.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams to ensure continuous, on-going improvement of processes, methods, productivity and quality, while reducing costs.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records and documents.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Correctly notate any loaded product discrepancies.
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

  • Delivering products and kegs weighing up to 160 pounds.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspection and operate Company vehicle in a safe and efficient manner. Communicate with direct manager any safety related and/or maintenance concerns with company vehicles.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
  • Correctly notate any loaded product discrepancies when delivering routes.
  • Maintain an operational understanding of route accounting software.
  • When called upon, assist in reconciling invoice and receiving transaction differences.
  • Perform accurate accounting of full and empty goods.
  • Assists with special deliveries as needed or requested.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of assigned route vehicle
  • Occasionally drive and deliver for vacation routes, short-week routes, and other unplanned business needs.
  • Develop and maintain good Company image in the trade and industry to achieve the Company’s objective for the overall growth and availability of Dahlheimer Beverage’s brands. Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams to ensure continuous, on-going improvement of processes, methods, productivity and quality, while reducing costs.

  • Availability for flexible scheduling as dictated by business needs.

Summary: A Draft Specialist plays a vital role in the consumer buying experience by preserving the quality and fresh taste of draft beer through timely response to service calls, and backup support for keg delivery and equipment installation.

Tasks: A Draft Specialist can be expected to perform the following tasks in this role:

  • Services all draft accounts and performs scheduled maintenance of beer lines
  • Monitors and maintains temperature, pressure and the freshness date.
  • Maintains current records of service calls for each account.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs/replaces draft equipment to include faucets, tap handles, tavern heads, and beer lines.
  • Monitors and reports competitive activity in the market.
  • Places and cleans Point of Sale as required.
  • Maintains draft room and parts inventory clean and organized.
  • Special event coordination
  • Maintains a professional rapport and image with on premise personnel and customers.
  • Takes care of Company equipment to include but not limited to handhelds, two wheeler, company vehicle, tools, ladders and office building in accordance with company policy.
  • Adheres to company safety policy and procedures; reports any unsafe conditions, incidents or accidents immediately to his direct supervisor.
  • Maintains acceptable record of attendance in compliance with company policy and is able to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Performs all other draft quality specialist duties or special assignments as directed by management.

Education and Professional Experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalent certificate.
  • Current Minnesota Valid Driver License required.
  • Prior beer industry experience preferred.

Physical Requirements and Experience: 

  • Must be able to pull/push a load of up to 175 lbs.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to lift/carry various products ranging from 10-60 lbs. without mechanical assistance.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must tolerate working in an environment with inside/outside ambient/extreme temperatures.
